Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA)
The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) committee shall enhance member benefits for young professional ASHRAE members, 35 years old and younger, by identifying, creating, and supporting activities and services focused on their needs. A primary focus of the committee will be attracting and developing YEA members for future membership and leadership in ASHRAE and the HVAC&R industry.
Chapter-level events
YEA is a community within ASHRAE designed for engineers 35 and under—but we believe everyone is young at heart! Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned professional, all are welcome to join. Our events focus on networking, socializing, and having a great time with fellow engineers. We host a variety of gatherings throughout the year, including our annual Football Big Game, Happy Hours and activities such as bowling night - Check out some of the highlights below, and we hope to see you at our next event!

The YEA Committee is excited to offer a wide range of events and programs designed with the YEA member in mind. All of these events are open to YEA members (Affiliates, Associates, and Members who are 35 or younger at the start of the Society year). Some events are registration based, while other require an application for selection. YEA Leadership Weekend/International
YEA Leadership Weekend 1.0 is an opportunity for you—the future leaders of ASHRAE—to learn more about Society, develop soft skills and network with other young professionals. Over 1,100 YEA members have already taken advantage of this great opportunity…will you be next? This event will include segments on understanding your own personality as well as other types, leadership development for young professionals, communication techniques and ASHRAE leadership opportunities. YEA Leadership Weekend 2.0 is designed to provide additional, more advanced resources to YLW alumni. For this continuation of YLW, a facilitator will help expand on the skills taught at the existing YLW event. As YLW alumni, you’ve had the opportunity to use the resources and connections you gained at YLW to not only grow your professional careers, but develop your participation within ASHRAE. The purpose of YLW 2.0 is to continue that growth and development, and hopefully inspire even further leadership skills and aspirations! Click HERE for more information.
YEA Leadership International is structured similarly to the above and typically a 3-day event of learning and networking with a facilitator. Each year the location of this event changes. The registration fee typically includes event attendance, materials, food, and hotel accommodations for 2 nights. Airfare and ground transportation are not included with the registration fee.
