Golden Gate ASHRAE - COVID-19 Fundraising Efforts
Whether you're a member or friend of the Golden Gate ASHRAE Chapter, we're reaching out to ask for donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to donate to our local hospitals in the Bay Area. The following equipment is desparately needed by doctors, nurses and all medical personnel treating COVID-19 patients:
- N95 Masks - Critical for treating COVID-19 patients
- Face Shields - Prolongs the life of the N95 masks.
- Surgical masks
- Gowns (Placed over scrubs)
- Boot covers
- Clear plastic sheeting - Draped over the patient while the patient is being intubated. This contains any coughed or expired virus under the sheet.
We have been working closely with several Emergency Doctors in the area to assess their needs. Please check your supply closets and donate what you are not using.
Please see the following list for drop-off locations and point of contact: https://www.donateppe.org/bayarea
Sutter Health is not on the above list, but also seeking donations. Their contact is Jacqui Decker at 415-589-0246 and drop-offs of equipment can be made at the CPMC Davis Campus with attention to Jacqui.
We have been working primarily with Dr. Alexander Lam, Medical Director of Emergency Services at CPMC Davies Campus. He also works at CPMC VNC & MBC campuses, as well as Sutter Santa Rosa. A huge thank you to him, for helping us put this campaign together.
If you do not have any of the above to donate, please consider donating to the Region X fund, while selecting California > Golden Gate Chapter, at the following link: http://www.regionx.org/donate
We will use the money raised to buy medical supplies and donate to local hospitals - We are attempting to purchase supplies from China and we are also partnering with 3D print shops to fabricate face shields.
If you make a DONATION, whether it is PPE or a financial donation, please email Alyse Falconer at [email protected], to let our Board of Governors know. We will be recognizing all donations in both the Fog Dispenser and at our next in-person meeting.
Thank you so much and let's keep our medical staff healthy!
